Helen Clark

Helen Clark was the 37th prime minister of New Zealand. She was a great leader as she opened Kiwibank and made great differences in New Zealand. She is the administrator of United nations Development. In this presentation we have added in the changes she has made and also who she is known for.

  2. Kia Ora Mia,
My name is Caitlyn, I am a year 7 student from karoro school.
I really like your writing about Helen clark. At school we haven’t learnt about her. We have also been doing some things around the election. Do you find the election interesting? I find the election interesting because none of the parties can finish it on their own because they don’t have enough seats.

Next time I think you should tell us about Helen Clark a bit more. Since she was in parliament what else has she done to be recognised in New Zealand. Also some of your sentences are really long. You need to add more commas and full stops.

I like your writing about Helen Clark, the elections is an interesting thing to learn about. I think you and your classmates did a great job on telling us about Helen Clark. I didn’t know that Helen Clark was the second female prime minister in New Zealand. Did you know that Jacinda Ardern helped Helen Clark in her campaign to be prime minister? Do you think she will be the third female prime minister of New Zealand.

  3. Kia Ora Mia,

My name is Molly and I am a year eight at Karoro School on the West Coast. I thought your work on Helen Clark was very interesting! We have been working on elections a lot in the past few weeks as well. For our election unit we had to create our own parties and actually participate in them! We ran our own debates, speeches and advertisement. Then we had our whole senior school vote. The party I was running in came 2nd place! This unit was a great way to learn work while having fun!

I thought that your work was really good! Maybe next time you could put in how her changes affected the lives of New Zealand citizens. This would then show us how her choices were remarkable. I also think that it is great to have some women running for prime minister!

I really enjoyed reading through your work. I like it because it was informative and very interesting. The layout and presentation of your work was very eye catching! Also, I think that the graphic of Helen Clark was a great idea too! Keep up the good work Mia! Go and check out my blog! http://karoromollyw.blogspot.co.nz/

    Thanks for sharing,

    Molly

  4. Hello Mia
It’s Poppy here from Karoro school. I am in ruma tahi (the top class) and I’m a years 7.

I think it is really interesting because my grandad always talks about politics and I can remember him talking about Helen, but we haven't learnt about her in class yet. However we have been doing a lot of things around the election like what the government is made up of and how to vote. What would your favourite party and MP be? I like national and Damien O'Connor (Labour).

Next you could think about how she made New Zealand recognised. Do you think that Helen made New Zealand recognisable? Some of your sentence are really long it would help to make your sentence shorter and put commas in.

I like your work around Helen Clark, the elections are a big thing to learn about. Over all you and your classmates did a fantastic job. I hope you enjoyed working about the elections I know I did.

    Poppy
