Tech at Tamaki college was a blast , in food tech we prepared our fillings for our meat pie. I worked collaboratively with MIshaan we managed to complete this task successfully. We first added in the diced onions then added in the mince , after this step we slowly added in the stock which will kind of make the mince more thick we now added in the corn starch this made it even more thick so there was enough pies to make for me and Mishaan. I can't wait for next week as we will finally finish off making our pies.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Futsal and Tennis
Today we went down to the Marist club futsal and tennis courts to have a little feel of how to play the real game in futsal since we have been taught it by our instructor Martin. I captained the black team we had a draw with our two games it was kind of like a round robin. We then got to play a bit of tennis I thought this was fun since I haven't really played this sport properly. I thought it was going to be hard but it wasn't all you had to do was to keep your eye on the ball and say bounce hit. I would like to thank Martin and Neville for taking this program.

5 minutes of Camp
Flying High
As my tummy was rumbling , I could hear my heart racing. It was time to fly up in the sky. I just wanted to get this over and done with. Thoughts racing through my mind I didn’t know what to do.
“ Flyer are you ready? “ instructor shouted.
“ Mia flying! “ I replied . Off I went, I went flying up high , high up in the sky. Whoosh! Feeling the cold breeze from the wind when I was swinging from side to side. Trees, fences, grass I could see everything from this point of view.
Now it was time to go down, I could feel the sweat rushing down my face , Click! Click! As I was cracking knuckles. Slowly like a tortoise I went down. It wasn’t as shocking as I thought it was going to be.
Screaming inside, I now accomplished my goal of not being terrified of heights . Was it true? Was I dreaming?
After our camp trip we wrote a recount of our favourite camp activity. This writing was 5 minutes of camp which meant that you had to write a 5 minute recount about your favorite activity in camp. We wrote My favourite camp activity was probably the Flying Kiwi, I found this fun because I have never tried this before and it would be fun experiencing something else. I used the structure " T.R.E.E" which is Title, Reveal , Events and Ending.

Water Cycle Feedback
In our reading we red a book that related to our water cycle that is linked to our Inquiry focus. To show our learning we had to find a critical friend that will give us feedback on what we did right and some negatives but in a polite way. Mishaan said that I spoke really clearly while talking about the answers and my side of the story. I thought Mishaan did really well giving good opinions to her part of the story.

Conserving in Auckland
We have been talking about conserving water, this relates to our Inquiry Topic " water care " or in Maori Te Taiao o Tamaki . We are using our learning to help other understand how important it is to save water in Auckland at the moment. I also added images to show a comparison of the water treatment plants ( a clean , healthy , flowing treatment plant and a dirty, abounded treatment plant). Us Aucklanders have to save at least 20 litres of water everyday.

Puzzler
Today we revised our , ordering decimals. This was quite easy considering that I have already played the game. It's easy because you just have to look at the whole number if there is an whole number or the decimal number. I hope we get to have more games like this as it tries to make it more challenging.

Greatest Common Factor
Today in our maths session we had to find a game that related to the topic Greatest Common Factor. It was quite hard to find a suitable game for your working because there were so many to choose from. Luckily I found a game that fitted perfect with what I was trying to work on. It gave me levels to fit with my learning. I started with level 1 and made my way up. I hope I improve in Common Factors because I need a lot of work on it.

Water testing
The student leaders went down to Johnson reserve to test our local waterway we had to see if it was healthy or unhealthy. It was a long process of testing if it was clean or dirty but we got a positive 8 on our ph test. This means that it is healthy and flowing. The sign that it isn't healthy is when it's stagnant this means that it isn't flowing. My favourite was when we did the Ph test because we got to match the colours to the results.

Ordering fractions and Decimals
In this game we ordered decimals and fractions from lowest to highest. This game helped me recall my fractions and decimal ordering. I thought this challenge was easy because I already knew how to order the fractions and decimals I hope to get more difficult ones.

Fruit Splat, Greatest common factor
Today for maths we played a game that challenged our knowledge on common factors. The game was easy, but it did challenge me. I already knew some of my common factors, so it was easier for me to answer most of the equations. It was good revising my maths skills and I hope to play more of these kind of games.
