To revise our decimal place value a bit we played a game , which asked us questions for example 1 in the tenths place and we would look for obviously the 1 in the tenths place. This helped me recall my place value and also I liked how it got harder and harder as it went through.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Our writing focus today was to look at Comparative and Superlative. This was kind of hard considering some of the questions were trick. Like for an example it was bad, worse and worst this was tricky because everyone thought that it was different but it wasn't. To show some examples I used smashed window as a result of Bad , Worse and Worst.

Millions Place Value
This week we have been working on ordering numbers which is basically place value. In this game we had to order numbers from highest to smallest (order the countries population). I thought this was quite easy considering I already know my millions place value. If you would like to play the game and give yourself a bit of a test you can play the game. (Click Here)

Chicken Kebabs and Potato Salad
In food tech we got to make chicken kebabs and potato salad. This was a long process but it turned out to be really good with the correct equipment we needed. I learnt how to make potato salad. We first put the potatos in the pot of hot boiling water , with the potatoes diced and sliced. We put this in for about 15 minutes then took them out. Now we added in some spring onions to it and put some dressing in along with some boiled egg. I thought this was really nice along with the chicken kebabs that tasted nice. I hope to make many more of these in my own time.

Omaru River
Our main inquiry focus today was about the Omaru River this particular river is located in East Auckland , Glen Innes. We were talking about the positive side affects and the negative side affects. To share our thinking we had to make a DLO about it and add some images to kind of back up our positives and negatives. The blockages in the river can make the water stagnant which can make the water dirty and polluted.

Tech @ Tamaki College
Today at Tamaki College , our first rotation this year is Food tech. But the rotations this term is Hard Materials and 3D printing. Well @ Tamaki College we made Spaghetti Bread muffins. It was quite easy because we had the same task last year and it was kind of a reminder this year. The very first task was to slice up the bread crusts, dice the bacon and pineapple. We then added it into a bowl and mixed it all up. After we put the bread into a cupcake tray and put it in the oven. Now we used the mixture and added it in the bread after 5 minutes then we put the mixture in for another 5 minutes. I thought it was really good and I can't wait to make something else next week.

Food Web
Since our topic is about our local environment we are studying on ecosystems. We have made a food web to see how other animals feed from each other which makes it inter- connective food web. This means that animals feeding from each other as this repeats. We used a estuary which is local to our country.

Futsal Kiwisport
Today our new kiwisport is futsal. This sport is basically a smaller version of Football because it is half the size of a normal football and has 20 minute halves. The rules are also different when the ball is out the ball is played as a throw in football but in Futsal the ball is played with a kick. It also has 5 players per team and has a smaller field. We played a few games just to get us warmed up then we got to practice on our dribbling with the ball. I learnt how to control the ball with 4 parts of my foot the inside of your foot, the outside of your foot, the front of the your're foot and etc.

PBS care Values
Today we were learning about our school values that we use at Panmure Bridge School. Our learning intention was to understand how we will use the Panmure bridge School values to help us make the most of our learning opportunities. I worked collaborative with my group ( Savelina, Mataio, Josh, Sanujan and C.J) to revise our ideas about our values. To help us we used pictures of our own and demonstrated the each values. I enjoyed this task because it has made me started this year on a positive note.
