Since we have the new rotation for tech we have stained glass as our rotation. This week we were planning our designs and being cautious of what would work and what wouldn't. We also coloured in the parts we wanted to. I had the idea of a boat and my initial "M". We also got to experience cutting glass with special boards. We used different tools to help us succeed in this.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Clock Design
At Tech we finally finished our clocks that we have been working on for the past few weeks. My design was inspired by a camera and made it my own. This was a very long process because we had to plan, cut out our designs, paint it, put it together then there we would have our final design. I think this was really hard because it was hard to get the exact shade that you wanted because we had to mix colours together to get our desired colour.

Tech Clocks
Tech @ Tamaki College was a bit different today. Instead of painting our clock designs we got set a task to draw circles using compasses and to spot the shape. I think this was really hard because you couldn't really see the inner shape and that it could make something else. In my drawing I saw a flower shape and a star which was really interesting. I could maybe add this in my clock design.

Tech @ Tamaki College
Tech at Tamaki College was great. Our whole group has finished laster cutting our designs and are now on to painting it. We made different colours be using the primary colours and looked at the outter colour wheel and looked at the secondary colours which is Green, Purple and Orange. I think this was really exciting because were up to our final stage of designing our clocks and I can't wait to see the finishing product.

Clock Design
In tech we had are planning to design clocks. I have chosen to design a clock for myself. I have picked 5 designs to get my inspiration to see what I can do with my clock. I have picked these because I really enjoy playing netball and playing the ukulele.

Tech @ Tamaki College
Tech at Tamaki College was great. Today was our new rotation so we changed to graphics. This term we have to design clocks customized by our own. We first had to make a college about ourselves adding in pictures of what we like our favourite food and etc. We then had to gather different types of clocks such as a digital clock or an alarm clock. I am excited to see how this turns out because this very different.

Making truffle

Today we made truffle. I first didn't know what it was then I figured it out that they were small little balls that had coconut, condensed milk, chocolate chip, cocoa powder and the outside was covered in dark chocolate. We first mixed our ingredients together and then combined it together. This was pretty messy because when we formed it into it's shape it was stuck in our hands. We now finished it off by putting the truffle into small cupcake wrappers and then put it inside a transparent bag and tied it up with a ribbon.

Meat Pie Fillings
Tech at Tamaki college was a blast , in food tech we prepared our fillings for our meat pie. I worked collaboratively with MIshaan we managed to complete this task successfully. We first added in the diced onions then added in the mince , after this step we slowly added in the stock which will kind of make the mince more thick we now added in the corn starch this made it even more thick so there was enough pies to make for me and Mishaan. I can't wait for next week as we will finally finish off making our pies.

Chicken Kebabs and Potato Salad
In food tech we got to make chicken kebabs and potato salad. This was a long process but it turned out to be really good with the correct equipment we needed. I learnt how to make potato salad. We first put the potatos in the pot of hot boiling water , with the potatoes diced and sliced. We put this in for about 15 minutes then took them out. Now we added in some spring onions to it and put some dressing in along with some boiled egg. I thought this was really nice along with the chicken kebabs that tasted nice. I hope to make many more of these in my own time.

Tech @ Tamaki College
Today at Tamaki College , our first rotation this year is Food tech. But the rotations this term is Hard Materials and 3D printing. Well @ Tamaki College we made Spaghetti Bread muffins. It was quite easy because we had the same task last year and it was kind of a reminder this year. The very first task was to slice up the bread crusts, dice the bacon and pineapple. We then added it into a bowl and mixed it all up. After we put the bread into a cupcake tray and put it in the oven. Now we used the mixture and added it in the bread after 5 minutes then we put the mixture in for another 5 minutes. I thought it was really good and I can't wait to make something else next week.
